CE Meets British Minister of State For International Development

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met yesterday with Hon Desmond Swayne, British Minister of State for International Development and his accompanied delegation at Sapidar Palace here in Kabul.
In the meeting, the country’s Chief Executive praised Britain for its assistance and sacrifices to Afghanistan in the past 14 years, asking for further expansion and strengthening of relations between the two countries. Chief Executive considered active role and aids as well programs of the Britain’s department of state for international development as essential for Afghanistan and asked for its further continuation of the cooperation. Britain’s minister of state for international development while declaring his country’s support from the National Unity Government NUG said he was in Kabul to assure the government and people of Afghanistan of his country’s continued cooperation. In the meeting, they also discussed on programs and priorities of NUG trade and Afghanistan’s regional relations, peace process, reforms in electoral system and the modality of assistance provided by Britain’s department of state for international development to Afghanistan.
