NSC Condemns Unruliness of Irresponsible Individuals On Commemoration Day of Martyr’s Week

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani chaired the regular meeting of National Security Council (NSC) the other day in ARG. Besides discussions on other items of the meeting’s agenda, the Commander of Kabul Garrison presented his report about the violence committed by a number of irresponsible individuals during commemoration day of the Martyr’s Week. Listening to the report, NSC condemned in the strongest terms the violent acts committed by irresponsible and unruly individuals, and directed the relevant Law Enforcement Agencies to detain and surrender to Judicial Authorities those responsible for martyring an employee of National Directorate of Security as well as beating a doctor of Ibn-e-Sina Hospital. It was also decided in the meeting to identify and surrender to Law those who had irresponsibly used government vehicles and equipment on that day.   At the end of the meeting, the efforts and professionalism of the National Security and Defense Forces of the country were commended and the Security Sector Agencies were tasked to take all the necessary preparations for providing security for the important upcoming events.
According to another report, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and General Chief of Armed Forces reviewed all-over security situation of the Paktika province via a video conference in Tawhid Center, his office said in a statement the other day. During the video conference, the province’s security officials presented their report on all-over security situation of the province to the president, the statement further said. In the video conference, Paktika governor, a number of the province’s representatives at the parliament and provincial council, Dr. Akram Khpelwak, president’s envoy on political affairs, Mohammad Ayoub Salangi, interior ministry senior deputy, Khalid Farouqi, president’s senior advisor and Solaiman Kakar, first deputy of the National Security Council office were present, the statement added. After hearing of the Paktika province’s security situation report, President Ghani stressed on improve in security situation of the country, he added that necessary measures will be taken to bring reforms at civil and military offices of the Paktika province, the statement concluded. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani also met with prominent figures, elders and scholars of Nuristan Province this afternoon in ARG. Also in attendance at the meeting were representatives of the people of Nuristan province in the National Assembly and Provincial Council.
Speaking on their behalf, Maulavi Ahmadullah Mohed and Abdul Saboor Tawhidi presented the requests and recommendations of the people of Nuristan in different areas to the President. They asked for security to be ensured in all the districts of the province, especially in Kamdesh, Barg Matal, Waygal and Nurgram. The elders, prominent figures and scholars of Nuristan Province also shared their problems in the area of governance and asked for a delegation to be dispatched to assess the situation of governance in the province. Having listened to their requests and recommendations, President Ghani praised the services and sacrifices of the people of Nuristan for the country. The President said that he will send a delegation to assess the affairs in the Province and take necessary measures in light of their findings to improve governance. The President pledged that the center of Nuristan will be connected to the districts of the province and adjacent provinces.
