Kabul (BNA) Marking Hafta-e-Shahid (Martyrs Week) and the anniversary of the martyrdom of the national hero is an opportunity for remembering the heroism and epics of the nation for safeguarding the country’s freedom and national sovereignty which its people have sacrificed their lives to defend the motherland’s independence and its honor.
The pages of the country’s contemporary history are inscribed with the glorious and heroic struggle of our heroes in defending the country’s freedom and in this course the role of national hero Shahid Ahmad Shah Masoud and thousands unknown martyrs is distinguished and significant. Therefore, marking the Martyrs week is commemoration of the sacrifices of not so far past generations in preserving the country’s independence who had sacrificed their lives to strengthen the spirit of freedom loving. Defending the country’s freedom in critical stage is not easy task as conspiracy still exists in the region and therefore, the process of martyrdom has yet to end in the country. Our hero nation still gives sacrifices to safeguard its freedom. Still the injured enemy is waiting to ambush and has been conspiring to hit sword from backside by seeding disunity to keep on the war in Afghanistan. The response to enemies’ vicious designs is identifying the enemies. To foil the enemies designs, the leadership of the country announced the peace process, because a united and clever nation never fooled by others. The ministry of information and culture is requesting all print and audio visual media outlets to respect the sacrifices of the martyrs of freedom, honor Martyrs Week and adjust their programs in accordance with the dignity of Hafta-e-Shahid.
