Mitra TV Cameraman Succumbs To Injuries / President Ghani Offers Condolence

Kabul (BNA) The cameraman of Mitra television, Zobair Hatami after some two weeks in hospital succumbed to his injuries in the Emergency Hospital.
A suicide bomber blow himself up in Estiqlal High School some two weeks ago killing two people including himself and injuring 20 others including Zobair Hatami who was seriously injured in the incident. Expressing sorrow over Hatani’s death, acting minister of information and culture, Nabi Farahi termed the death as a great loss, saying Hatami lost his life in enemies’ attack during performing duty. Farahi also expressed sympathy with the family of late Hatami and the family of media.
Meantime, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani offered condolence over the sad demise of late Hatami. The president in a statement released by his office here the other day, expressed sympathy with the family, friends and media outlets of the country. However, the coffin of late Hatami was laid to rest amid hundreds of mourners in his ancestral graveyard. In addition to family, friends and media men, a large number of parliamentarians, officials from the ministry of information and culture, civil society activists had attended the funeral ceremony. Expressing sympathy with the family of late Hatami, Simin Hassanzada the Deputy MoIC on publications, pointed out that murdering Zobair Hatami by enemies speaks of their fear about boosting press freedom in the country. She also called upon the government to bring to justice those behind the coward attack.
