NSC Decides To Register Vehicles Countrywide

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the National Security Council (NSC) held meeting the other day, his office said in a statement.
According to the statement, appreciating the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) sacrifices in defending the country, after reviewing the security situation of Helmand, Kunduz, Baghlan, Nangarhar and Urozgan provinces, the NSC tasked the related entities to take decisive actions for uprooting militants. In the meeting, President Ghani approved in principle the procedure for registration of vehicles including non-custom paid (NCP) and biometric entry of their owners, the statement further said. The plan for vehicles’ registration has been arranged by the NSC in coordination with concerned organs, the statement said, adding, based on the procedure, security organs are accountable to force the vehicles’ owners to register their vehicles and their biometric data. Ministries of interior, telecommunications and information technology as well as the presidential advisor on technical affairs were tasked to prepare the executive plan for the procedure within the next two weeks, the statement continued. The meeting also approved a regulation simplifying extradition of Afghan suspects and defendants in foreign countries. Based on the regulation, humanitarian rights of the suspects, defendants and prisoners would be protected by both the sides, the statement concluded.
