Women’s Role Clear In Water Resources Management, Dr. Abdullah

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in the conference of water management called the role of women very effective in water management and said Afghanistan is feared to face shortage of water in the next 10 years, said a statement from his office Tuesday.  The CE praised the role of women too effective in building different parts of the society and they should be given more opportunity, particularly in the water resources management.
“Afghanistan would face critical shortage of water in ten years and the water should be reserved and needed cooperation should made in this field,” said the CE. Meanwhile Sayeda Muzhgan Mustafavi, the deputy minister of information and culture in administrative and financial affairs spoke about the issue in the conference as saying that underground waters have dried by 20 meters and is critically polluted. She said a plan should be provided by the university lecturers on how women, who are mostly consuming water, could take the water resources management, as well as the ministry of rural rehabilitation could play its role in this field and provide awareness for women in the villages’ local areas.
