17 Taliban Militants Join Peace Process In Badakhshan Province

Kabul (BNA) At least 17 Taliban militants joined peace process by renouncing violence in northeastern Badakhshan province, local officials said.
Provincial police Chief Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai said the group led by commander Wajid and commander Najeeb were involved in anti-government armed activities in Argo district.
Ahmadzai further added that the group surrendered to government and laid down their weapons on Monday. He said the surrender of the group will hopefully have a positive impact on security situation of Argo district.
