Taliban Shadow District Chief Shot Dead In Herat

Kabul (BNA) A senior Taliban leader was shot dead along with three other Taliban fighters by unknown gunmen in western Herat province of Afghanistan.
According to local security officials, Mullah Ghani Shah was shadow district governor of Pashtun Zarghoon district who was shot dead by unknown gunmen early Tuesday morning.
Provincial police spokesman, Abdul Rauf Ahmadi said the Mullah Ghani Shah was killed around 1:00 am local in Obe district.
Ahmadi further added that the Taliban leader was involved in roadside bombings, kidnappings, assassination of government employees and security forces and other insurgency activities. The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far. This comes as Taliban shadow governor for Herat province was killed along with a number of Taliban militants following an airstrike in Bakwa district of Farah province.
