Public Awareness Meeting On Anti- Human Trafficking Held

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by deputy minister of publication affairs for information and culture, Associate Prof. Sayda Mojgan Mostafavi the session of high counter human trafficking commission’s public awareness committee was held yesterday. In the session, various dimensions of counter human trafficking, enhancement of public awareness level of harms of human trafficking and illegal immigrations and coordination of relevant government and non-government organs for counter human trafficking were discussed. As a result, representatives of ministries of refugees and repatriates, hajj and endowment, education, women affairs and UNHCR finalized and approved plan of the respective commission’s public awareness committee.    
Sayda Mojgan Mostafavi, deputy minister of publication affairs for information and culture and head of the committee in her briefing added that the formed committee has been tasked to hold public awareness workshops for religious ulema, tribal dignitaries, members of provincial councils and provincial officials in 34 provinces of the country so that the people would aware of harms of human trafficking. Mostafavi stressed on importance of public awareness of human trafficking and pointed to a series of the government’s achievements in this regard.
