Kabul (BNA) Ministry of National Defense confirmed that Nawa district, southern Helmand province has been captured by Afghan National Security Forces.
General Mohammad Radmanish deputy spokesman of Ministry of National Defense told BNA reporter, sometimes ago the mentioned district captured by Taliban militants, which recently Afghan security forces conducted a military operation aiming to recapture the district, as a result they succeeded to take control of Nawa district.
Military operation continuing to clean-up all parts of the district from being of anti-government militias, Radmanish added.
Dozens armed oppositions were killed and wounded during the military operation, deputy spokesman concluded.
