Afghan-Chinese Leaders Stress Enhancing Relation

Kabul (BNA) During his second day of stay in China, President Ghani met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, the presidential palace said in a statement the other day. According to the statement, during the meeting, the Chinese President said we should make effort to bolster relations between the two countries, as expansion of cooperation with Afghanistan is a basic principle to us on ensuring peace and stability in the country. Lauding President Ghani’s efforts on ensuring peace and stability as well as economic growth, the Chinese President supported the Afghan side’s peace offer and temporary ceasefire. He added as the Taliban have welcomed the ceasefire is good news to Afghanistan and the region, the statement added.
In return, President Ghani said we were getting near to peace, but cooperation of friend countries would help us get nearer to this goal, the statement went on to say. The President appreciated his Chinese counterpart efforts on enhancing relations between the two sides. To further tighten security, economic and cultural relations, both sides also stressed on continued discussions between the two countries, the statement continued.
