Kandahar (BNA) A military officer was assassinated by gunmen in Kandahar.
Noor Ali, the commander of a police station in Kandahar, was shot dead by unknown assailants as he was on duty in the Ninth Security District yesterday.
Kandahar security official told BNA that the attackers had fled after the assassination of the officer and that efforts were underway to identify and arrested them.
So far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the assassination.
