Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a decree issued on the occasion of 23rd anniversary of the victory of the Jihad of the people of Afghanistan has pardoned and reduced prisoners’ period including the juveniles.
The presidential decree which covers both civil and military prisoners has pardoned women detainees aged 49 and men detainees aged 59 who had been sentenced to five years in jail to be pardoned and released.
Some prisoners based on the presidential decree got mitigation in their jail term.
However, the presidential decree categorically stated that the decree does not cover terrorists, armed robbers, kidnappers, corrupts and those involved in activities against national security and murderers.
