390 Insurgents Killed and wounded Across the Country: MoD

Kabul (BNA) Government forces and Taliban insurgents have clashed in 15 provinces over the past 24 hours.

Ministry of Defense says about 390 Taliban insurgents have been killed or wounded in clashes with security forces during this period.

Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement issued yesterday that 390 Taliban insurgents were killed and 150 others were wounded in clashes and counter-attacks by security and defense forces.

According to the statement, large quantities of enemy weapons and ammunition were destroyed in these clashes and 18 rounds of various types of mines which were moved by the Taliban in different parts of the country to target civilians and security forces, were discovered and defused.

Laghman, Logar, Paktika, Ghazni, Kandahar, Farah, Ghor, Badghis, Balkh, Samangan, Helmand, Nimroz, Badakhshan, Kunduz and Kabul were the provinces that have been the scene of clashes between the Taliban and government forces for the past 24 hours.

The Taliban have reportedly advanced into the town of Qala-e-Naw in Badghis yesterday, but local officials have said they have blocked the advance.
