Australia To Continue Military Presence In Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met the other day with Australian defense minister and her accompanying delegation.
In the meeting, the Australian minister of defense briefed related to her country’s continued cooperation with Afghanistan in various sectors in particular military, saying that Australia was committed to assistance to Afghanistan and economic development of the country.
The Australian minister of defense added that Australia would keep its 270 military forces stationed currently in Afghanistan for training of Afghan security forces beyond 2016.
Afterwards, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani praised Australia for its continued cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields sin particular training of Afghan special forces in Uruzgan province.
The country’s President stressed that Afghanistan was making its foreign policy based on national, regional and international interests, adding that joint economical effort between the countries could maintain peace and stability in the region.
