Kabul (BNA) The fourth technical conference of SAARC ended in Kabul yesterday.
The conference entitled implementation of SAARC conventions about smuggling and traffic of women and children, and the welfare status of children in the South Asia with the participation of SAARC member’s states was held in Kabul.
Deputy Minister of labor, social affairs martyrs and disabled Wasel Noor Mohammad asked for establishment of a free of charge telephone line among the SAARC member countries for prevention of trafficking of children and women and to seek smugglers.
He also noted that the conference decided that two national of each member should be provided training in technology for controlling traffic of women and children.
He noted that any country having accepted the conventions on child rights should implement it and present a report of its activities to the assigned committee of the SAARC.
He stressed that this conference decided the activities of this conference is named “prevention of human traffic” and the next conference will be held in Bhutan in the coming year.
In the fourth SAARC conference that was held in Kabul, the representatives of Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and India had taken part.
The SAARC conference, meeting is held in the SAARC member countries with participation of high level authorities.
Afghanistan has got its membership in 2007.
According to Mohammad so far over 6,000 Afghans have been smuggled from the country.
