Uzbekistan Extends Warm Welcome to IEA, Expresses Readiness for Enhanced Bilateral Ties

 

KABUL (BNA) On Tuesday Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic affairs met with a high-ranking delegation led by Baxtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan who traveled to Kabul.

The meeting, held at the ARG’s Charchanar Palace in Kabul, focused on strengthening political and economic cooperation between the two nations.

Mullah Baradar, during the meeting, emphasized the Islamic Emirate’s foreign policy, which prioritizes economic development and regional connectivity.

The Deputy PM Baradar highlighted the importance of increasing transit between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, developing trade relations, expanding railway networks, investing in Afghanistan, and addressing transportation and customs issues.

Furthermore, Mullah Baradar Akhund drew attention to water management and agricultural development.

He mentioned the long-standing aspiration of the Afghan people to build the Qosh tape canal in the north of the country, which had been hindered by years of conflict and instability.

In response, Minister Saidov reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering friendly relations with Afghanistan.

He expressed his country’s readiness to receive the ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tashkent, which would serve as a crucial step in expanding political and economic ties.

Minister Saidov further stated that Uzbekistan is ready to embark on significant projects aimed at enhancing Afghan transport infrastructure, boosting regional connectivity, and increasing trade levels.

The high-ranking Uzbek delegation, consisting of 30 members, included cabinet officials and representatives from the private sector.

The discussions between Uzbekistan and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan signify a positive step towards regional collaboration and the pursuit of shared economic prosperity.
