Work Begins on Key Road Stretch Linking Kabul to Jalalabad
KABUL(BNA): The construction of the first section of the Bagrami-Lata Band to Kabul-Jalalabad road has officially commenced. This section, stretching 3.3 kilometers in length and 60 meters in width, is located in District 21 of Kabul and is being developed with an investment of 340 million Afghanis.
Engineer Miralrahman Nasiri, Head of the Programs and Projects Department at Kabul Municipality, highlighted the strategic importance of this road. He emphasized that it serves as a vital economic corridor for the southeastern region of Afghanistan. The road is expected to be completed with high standards within the next 18 months.
Currently, preliminary work is underway, which includes excavation, earthworks, clearing, and the removal of obstacles to facilitate the primary construction activities.
The project will also encompass the construction of a major bridge, small bridges, retaining walls, drainage systems, pedestrian walkways, flower beds, stations, street lighting, and road markings.
