Uzbekistan’s Deputy PM Assures Readiness for Joint Cooperation with Afghanistan
KABUL(BNA): Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Jamshid Khodjaev, reaffirmed his country’s readiness for joint collaboration across various sectors with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan during a meeting with Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs.
According to a statement from ARG, the meeting took place yesterday, Saturday where Mr. Khodjaev warmly welcomed Mawlawi Hanafi and his accompanying delegation. He expressed Uzbekistan’s willingness to cooperate in fields such as mining, trade, agricultural development, and facilitating the transportation and transit of goods.
Highlighting the growth of bilateral trade, Khodjaev mentioned the establishment of the Termez Trade Center as a significant achievement in fostering economic relations between the two nations.
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi appreciated Uzbekistan’s support and stressed the historical and amicable ties between the two countries. He emphasized the Islamic Emirate’s intent to further strengthen these ties and welcomed Uzbekistan’s investments in Afghanistan, assuring necessary facilities for traders and investors.
Previously, Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov, also expressed interest in collaborating on Afghanistan’s mining sector and facilitating the transit of goods to other nations.
