Uzbek Doctors Launch Five-Day Free Medical Camp in Balkh

KABUL(BNA): An Uzbekistani medical team has arrived in the Hairatan Township of Balkh province to offer free healthcare services to patients for five days.
The team, aiming to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, has brought along medicines, medical equipment, and food supplies.
Mawlawi Noorulhadi Abu Idrees, the deputy governor of Balkh, warmly welcomed the Uzbekistani delegation and commended the strong and friendly ties between the two neighboring countries. “These humanitarian aids are a testament to the friendship and trust between our nations,” he remarked, adding that Uzbekistan has extended similar assistance in the past, which plays a vital role in furthering mutual relations.
Meanwhile, Ulugh Beg Qosimov, the governor of Uzbekistan’s Surkhandarya region, emphasized that the relationship between the two nations continues to grow stronger daily. He stated, “The people of Uzbekistan stand alongside the Afghan nation, and our support in various sectors will persist.”
At the same time, Sayed Ahmad Shadab, Balkh’s deputy director of public health, praised the initiative, describing it as beneficial for Afghan patients. He also highlighted that it would allow Afghan doctors to benefit from the expertise of Uzbek specialists.
According to reports, 34 specialized doctors from Uzbekistan will treat various ailments in Hairatan Township.
It is worth noting that, along with medical aid, Uzbekistan has donated 30 tons of flour, 10 tons of rice, 10 sacks of sugar, 35,000 liters of cooking oil, 10 tons of macaroni, and 20 types of meat.
