Trade with India Reaches Approximately $650 Million, Reports Commerce Ministry
KABUL(BNA): Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce report that Afghanistan’s trade volume with India has reached approximately $650 million in the first ten months of 2024.
Akundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the ministry’s spokesperson, wrote on his social media account on X “In the first ten months of 2024, Afghanistan’s trade with India has reached about $650 million, including approximately $447 million in exports and around $203 million in imports.”
According to him, Afghanistan’s main exports to India include dried figs, asafoetida, saffron, raisins, green cumin, and almonds. Major imports from India consist of sugar and raw materials for industrial factories.
Earlier, ministry officials also reported that trade between Afghanistan and China reached a value of $548 million in the first nine months of 2024, with $12 million in exports and $536 million in imports.
