KABUL(BNA): The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Afghanistan has extended an official invitation to the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to participate in the upcoming Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan.
According to Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the invitation was delivered during a meeting between Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, and Dmitry Zhirnov, the Russian Ambassador to Kabul.
During the meeting, Ambassador Zhirnov emphasized that maintaining strong relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan remains a priority for Russia. He extended an invitation to Afghanistan’s representatives to attend all regional and international forums hosted by Russia.
Mawlawi Muttaqi expressed his gratitude for the invitation and reaffirmed Afghanistan’s consistent participation in the Moscow Format Consultations, viewing it as a valuable platform for discussing key bilateral and regional issues. He further noted that the upcoming session would provide another opportunity for high-level discussions with Russian officials and representatives from neighboring countries.
The Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan serves as a crucial forum for facilitating regional dialogue on Afghanistan’s future and has played a central role in promoting political reconciliation and peace in the region.
