Public Health Minister Meets with UNDP Head to Discuss Infectious Diseases Control

KABUL(BNA): Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Acting Minister of Public Health, held a meeting today with Mr. Stephen Rodriguez, the head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) office for Afghanistan, and his delegation at his office.

According to the Ministry’s press release, the discussions centered on the implementation of solar power systems in health centers nationwide, and efforts to combat malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS, alongside general health service improvements.

Acting Minister Mawlawi Jalali expressed his appreciation for UNDP’s ongoing support in providing healthcare to residents in remote areas, installing solar power systems in health facilities, and controlling infectious diseases. He called for a focus on long-term projects instead of short-term initiatives.

In response to the request, Mr. Rodriguez  reaffirmed UNDP’s commitment to continued cooperation in these critical areas.
