Professional Skills Training Enhances Women’s Livelihoods in Sar-e Pol

 

KABUL(BNA): The Women’s Chamber of Commerce in Sar-e Pol, in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), has launched a six-month professional training program aimed at empowering women and improving their economic conditions. The program focuses on shoemaking, sandal crafting, and bag sewing in the province.

According to Bakhtar News Agency, Mikail Taşdemir, TIKA’s representative for the northern region, stated that six women are being trained under the supervision of an expert instructor. Upon completing the program, the participants will gain the skills needed to generate income and meet their families’ needs. TIKA has also provided all necessary equipment, including tools and raw materials, to support their work.

DaMullah Mohammad Nader Haqjo, the Deputy Governor of Sar-e Pol, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in society. He expressed gratitude to TIKA for initiating the training program and creating job opportunities, urging the agency to expand its activities in the province.

Mufti Abdul Shakir Shahab and Mawlawi Ghulam Haider Haidari, heads of the provincial Industry, Commerce, and Economy departments, welcomed the initiative. They expressed optimism that the participating women would utilize this opportunity effectively to contribute to family and community economic development.

Meanwhile, the management of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and the participants of the training program expressed their satisfaction with the initiative. They affirmed that the skills gained through this training would significantly enhance their families’ economic well-being.
