Prisoner Releases and Sentence Reductions in Samangan Province

 

SAMANGAN(BNA): Fourteen prisoners were released in Samangan province, following a decree from the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA). Additionally, forty-eight other inmates received reductions in their sentences.

Mawlavi Mohiuddin Omari, the head of the Samangan Court of Appeals, confirmed the developments in a statement to the Bakhtar News Agency. He stated that these actions were executed based on a proposal from the Supreme Court and in alignment with the Supreme Leader’s decree.

Among those released, the cohort includes ten men and four women, reflecting a commitment to addressing the needs of all prisoners. The sentence reductions granted to the other inmates varied significantly, spanning from three to eighteen months.
