Prime Minister of Afghanistan and Turkmen Chairman Launch TAPI Pipeline and Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

 

KABUL(BNA): Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, has arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the inauguration of the TAPI pipeline and other major development projects. This visit highlights the importance of these initiatives in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to a statement from ARG, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, leading a high-level delegation, arrived this morning in Eslem Cheshmeh, Mary, Turkmenistan. This visit marks the commencement of the TAPI pipeline and several other development projects focused on oil and gas, energy, and transportation.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by Rashid Meredov, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister, and other senior officials. Subsequently, he met with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan.

During their meeting, which also included Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the leaders discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation. They underscored the critical role of these large-scale development projects and noted that such initiatives are essential for enhancing the well-being and prosperity of both Afghan and Turkmen citizens.

Additionally, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow will participate in a video conference and deliver keynote addresses at the inauguration ceremony.

This event will officially launch the TAPI pipeline and other significant economic and development projects, marking a new chapter in Afghanistan-Turkmenistan relations and further strengthening their strategic partnership.
