Panjshir Sells Nearly 5,000 Carats of Emeralds in Transparent Auction

PANJSHIR(BNA): Officials from the Panjshir Directorate of Mines and Petroleum have reported sale of emeralds recently extracted from the province’s mines.

Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Amiri, the director of the Panjshir Mines and Petroleum Directorate, informed Bakhtar News Agency that 4,977 carats of emeralds, valued at $124,600, were auctioned off to local traders.

Mawlawi Amiri emphasized that the sale was conducted in the presence of an authorized committee, ensuring a transparent process.

Previously, thousands of carats of emeralds have also been successfully sold to domestic traders, highlighting the ongoing mineral trade in the region.
