Panjshir Auction Witnesses Sale of Over 2,100 Carats of Emeralds

PANJSHIR(BNA): An auction held in Panjshir saw the sale of more than 2,133 carats of emeralds to domestic traders. According to Saifuddin Latun, spokesman for the Panjshir provincial governor, the auction attracted hundreds of traders, underscoring the region’s growing interest in its natural resources.

The emeralds were sold for a total of $56,600, highlighting the potential for lucrative opportunities within the province’s mining sector. Notably, a number of young entrepreneurs from Panjshir participated in the auction, signaling a positive trend towards economic development in the area.

Local residents, eager to engage with the mining industry, are advocating for the provincial administration to commence operations at an iron mine discovered approximately 30 kilometers from the auction site.
