PAKTIKA(BNA): Officials in the Directorate of Industry and Commerce in Paktia have announced plans to hold an exhibition aimed at promoting, strengthening, and supporting local artisans.
According to Mohammad Azim Azimi, the head of the province’s Industry and Commerce, there is a growing interest in handicrafts, and they plan to organize an exhibition to foster the growth and support of these traditional industries.
Paktia residents, many of whom are engaged in artisanal work, rely on the sale of handicrafts to meet their economic needs.
Meanwhile, several artisans from Paktia have expressed the need for relevant institutions to take serious steps towards improving their work and marketing their handicrafts, considering the value of these products.
Khan Karim, an artisan and shopkeeper of handicrafts in Gardez city, mentioned that he has been working in this field for five years. He urges Islamic Emirate to support them and create opportunities for exporting their handicrafts abroad.
Officials from Paktia’s Directorate of Industry and Commerce assure comprehensive support in the field of handicrafts and state that more attention will be given to this sector in the province.
