Northern Coal Company Reports 381 Million AFN Revenue Increase in Second Quarter

KABUL(BNA): Officials from the Northern Coal Company of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported an increase of 381 million Afghanis in their revenues for the second quarter of the current solar year.
According to the spokesman for the company, Izzatullah Hamaas, the company generated a total of 1 billion Afghanis in the first quarter and 1 billion 381 million Afghanis in the second quarter, reflecting the reported increase. These revenues have been deposited into the state treasury.
Mawlawi Abdullah Hamid, head of the Northern Coal Company, stated that the number of coal mines in both public and private sectors has increased to over 5,000, compared to 1,028 mines prior to the establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Additionally, engineers from the Shorabak mine, Engineer Hashmatullah, and Engineer Aimal from the coal company, mentioned that special attention is now being given to worker safety during mining operations, with improved safety measures and well-regulated mine shafts.
Residents of Baghlan province have called for more transparency in the collection of revenues and for the implementation of development projects in their areas by the Northern Coal Company.
