New Battles in Kandahar; Dozens Armed Taliban Killed
Kandahar (BNA) Kandahar in the south of the country last night until this morning witnessed heavy fighting between the security forces and the insurgents affiliated with the Taliban.
The clashes took place in Zheri, Panjwai and Maiwand districts, killing 48 insurgents and wounding dozens more.
Senior Atal Corps official in the south told BNA that 48 insurgents, including eight Pakistani fighters, had been killed and dozens more wounded in the clashes.
He added that ten local Taliban commanders were among those killed.
In the aftermath of these battles, the air force razed six hideouts of the armed Taliban with all their military equipment.
