National Procurement Commission Approves 12 Key Development Projects Worth AFN 10 Billion

 

KABUL(BNA): The National Procurement Commission, under the leadership of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has approved contracts for 12 key development projects worth approximately 10 billion Afghanis during its latest session.

According to the press office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, 30 projects were submitted for review in the commission’s regular meeting. Of these, contracts for 12 projects received approval, while amendments were made to 15 others.

Additionally, one project was canceled, and two projects were referred to designated committees for further negotiations on pricing with the respective winning companies. These committees are tasked with submitting their final reports to the leadership of the National Procurement Commission.

The approved and amended projects include the completion of dormitory buildings for the universities in Kandahar, Zabul, and Nimroz; the rehabilitation of Kandahar’s Ahmad Shah Baba International Airport, essential work on the remaining 25 kilometers of the Qaisar-Laman road in Badghis, the reconstruction of rail and non-rail infrastructure along the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railway, as well as the construction of several key roads in Kabul city. These projects are being financed by the Islamic Emirate.
