Multi-Phase Ceasefire Agreement Reached Between Hamas and Israel

KABUL(BNA): Qatar, Egypt, and the United States have announced that Hamas and Israel have reached a multi-phase ceasefire agreement, set to take effect this Sunday.

The long-awaited agreement aims to bring an end to the ongoing conflict and facilitate peace in the region.

The initial phase of the ceasefire will span 42 days. During this period, both parties have agreed to the release of 33 Israeli prisoners alongside a number of Palestinian detainees currently held in Israeli prisons.

Hamas has expressed satisfaction with the terms of the agreement, stating that it fulfills all conditions they had set at the outset of the Israeli military operations in Gaza. Key conditions include a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the safe return of displaced persons to their homes.

The announcement has been met with cautious optimism from international observers, who view the ceasefire as a potential turning point in the ongoing hostilities. The hope is that this agreement will pave the way for further negotiations and lasting peace in the region.
