Mullah Nooruddin Turabi Meets IFRC President

KABUL(BNA): Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the head of AfghanistanAfghanistanNational DisasterManagementAuthority (ANDMA), welcomed Nissofer Migendi, the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

The discussions also included Ahmed Suleiman and Abdul Rashid Hameem, program and protocol officials from the IFRC.

During the meeting, Mullah Turabi highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Disaster Management Authority to support aid organizations operating in Afghanistan. He emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between national authorities and international humanitarian groups to effectively address the country’s challenges.

Nissofer Migendi expressed the IFRC’s commitment to increasing humanitarian projects in Afghanistan. He underscored the necessity of implementing prevention programs and raising public awareness regarding disaster risks, aiming to better prepare communities for potential emergencies.

Both parties concluded the meeting by pledging to collaborate on the development and execution of effective projects that can significantly improve disaster preparedness and response in Afghanistan.
