KABUL(BNA): The Ministry of Information and Culture held an administrative meeting today, presided over by the Acting Minister, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa.
The session included key ministry officials such as the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administration, Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal; the Deputy Minister for Publications, Mohajir Farahi; the Deputy Minister for Arts and Culture, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi; and the Deputy Minister for Youth Affairs, Qari Mohammad Younus Rashid, along with central directors of the ministry.
During the meeting, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa provided insights into his recent visit to Russia, sharing key outcomes and developments from the trip. The discussions also focused on various strategic initiatives, including enhancing security measures for tourists and improving facilities to promote the development of the tourism industry. Coordination with relevant agencies to ensure safety and ease for tourists was emphasized as a top priority.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the growing need to improve the country’s media sector, with calls for more standardization in broadcasting practices. There was also a significant focus on preserving the legacy of the Jihadist movement and safeguarding Afghanistan’s cultural history. The ministry highlighted the importance of maintaining museums and historical sites, as well as protecting artifacts that represent Afghanistan’s rich heritage.
In addition, the role of the Invitation and Guidance Directorate in elevating the religious and ideological understanding of ministry staff was discussed, marking it as a priority for future capacity-building initiatives within the ministry.
