MoFA Announces Passport Issuance for Expatriates at Mumbai Consulate
KABUL(BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan announced that the distribution of passports will begin today through the Islamic Emirate’s General Consulate in Mumbai, India.
According to a press release issued by the ministry, this initiative follows the directive of the esteemed Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Supreme Leader as per Decree No. 683 dated 28/10/1444. This directive obligates all ministries and government bodies to provide necessary facilities for Afghan citizens and resolve issues they may face.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Afghan General Consulate in Mumbai to commence this distribution process, aiming to address the needs of Afghan refugees, students, and businessmen residing in India.
The Ministry further stated that Afghan nationals whose passports have expired or who lack passports can apply for new ones by presenting valid identification documents at the consulate. This service is intended to streamline access for those requiring new or renewed travel documentation.
