Ministry of Interior Resolves 80-Year Tribal Conflict in Paktia

 

PAKTIKA(BNA): The Ministry of Interior Affairs has announced the resolution of an 80-year conflict among four tribes in Paktia province, marking a significant achievement for peace and reconciliation in the region.

In a press release, the ministry’s spokesman, Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, stated that through the efforts of the Acting Ministers of the Ministries of Interior and Refugees and Repatriation, and tribal leader Ibrahim Haqqani, a longstanding dispute over land and mountains in the Gardez area has been settled.

The Acting Minister of Interior described this resolution as a significant victory for peace and brotherhood, a step towards the satisfaction of God and the unity of the Afghan people.

During the reconciliation ceremony, the Acting Minister praised the dedication and valor of the people of Paktia, acknowledging their struggle for an independent nation.

The decision has been regarded by Paktia’s tribal leaders as a major achievement for reconciliation in the southeastern zone, fostering an atmosphere of brotherhood among the tribes and preventing further bloodshed.
