PAKTIKA(BNA): The Ministry of Information and Culture’s Directorate of Access to Information initiated a two-day coordination seminar for spokesmen, media representatives, and publication managers of Emirati (governmental) institutions in the southeastern zone.
During the session, Deputy Director of Publications and Head of Bakhtar News Agency, Mawlawi Zia-ul-Haq Haqmal, emphasized the crucial role of spokesmen and media managers in countering foreign propagandas, informing the public and international community of the Islamic Emirate’s achievements, and fostering ideological and intellectual growth.
“Government spokesmen and media officials are responsible for countering unfounded foreign and enemy disinformation and ensuring timely dissemination of the Islamic Emirate’s achievements to the public and the international community,” he stated.
Furthermore, Mawlawi Rahmatullah Nariwal, Director of Access to Information Directorate, stated that the ministry is actively addressing media complaints and providing training to spokesmen. He emphasized the importance of regularly conducting similar seminars every three months.
He urged spokesmen to provide information to journalists in accordance with Islamic and Afghan cultural values and the policies of the Islamic Emirate, highlighting their responsibility to combat misinformation and promote the achievements of the government.
Additionally, legal Advisor for the Ministry of Information and Culture, Qari Saeed Khosti explained the Emirate’s media policy, which is based on logic and justice, urging spokesmen to avoid controversial topics and use respectful language.
The first day included sessions on the Emirate’s media policy, collaboration with media, and addressing media violations. Participants from Logar, Paktia, Paktika, Ghazni, and Khost provinces shared their concerns and suggestions.
Worth noting that, the seminar aims to improve coordination among government spokesmen, media representatives, and journalists, ensuring better dissemination of information and addressing issues effectively.
