Ministry of Finance Allocates AFN 850 Million to Settle Debts Incurred by Prior Administration
KABUL(BNA): The Ministry of Finance has announced the disbursement of AFN 850 million to address outstanding debts owed to domestic private entities from the previous administration.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry highlighted that this initiative is in accordance with the decision of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The announcement stated: “Pursuant to the leadership’s decree, the process of settling outstanding claims, guarantees, and securities owed by the prior administration to several domestic private logistics companies and individuals has commenced. To date, claims, guarantees, and securities for 35 institutions have been verified and approved.”
The Ministry of Finance further elaborated that, among the verified institutions, 21 have submitted their invoicing reports. Following the necessary verification procedures, 10% of their claims were settled in the fiscal year 1402, with an additional 15% disbursed in the current fiscal year 1403, totaling AFN 850 million.
It is essential to note that the process of verifying and settling claims, guarantees, and securities is proceeding normally. Institutions that have been verified will receive 15% of their claims upon submitting their invoicing reports to the Ministry of Finance.
