Mining Projects Generate Significant Employment Opportunities, Says Acting Minister of Mines

 

KABUL (BNA): The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, in a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, stated that mining projects have created direct and indirect jobs for tens of thousands of people.

According to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, the Acting Minister, met with Mawlawi Mohammad Zahid Ahmadzai, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, in his office.

In the meeting, they discussed better management of the country’s natural and mineral resources, attracting investment, providing job opportunities in mining projects, and increasing coordination between the two ministries.

During the meeting, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri described Afghanistan as a country with abundant mineral resources, which can play a significant role in attracting domestic and foreign investment, economic growth and development, job creation, and reducing poverty and unemployment.

He also added that currently, mining projects have created direct and indirect employment for tens of thousands of people, and compared to the past, the work scope has expanded, creating more job opportunities.

The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs has emphasized the need for greater coordination between the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in the area of workforce recruitment.
