Media Responsibility Emphasized in Coordination Meeting

KABUL(BNA): In a recent coordination meeting held by the Ministry of Information and Culture, Acting Minister Alhaj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa underscored the vital role of media in society and stressed the necessity for responsible reporting.

The meeting brought together spokespersons from independent agencies, ministries, and media officials to discuss the importance of aligning media practices with national interests.

Minister Khairkhwa highlighted the essential nature of media responsibility, stating, “The responsibility of the media is very important and it should be dealt with in a way that is consistent with our path.” He called for the avoidance of programs that could divert society from its main objectives, urging participants to focus on maintaining original endurance and steering clear of extremes.

During the discussion, Minister Khairkhwa acknowledged the strict media restrictions imposed in various countries, affirming that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan stands in support of the media and will continue to advocate for their rights. “After the victory of the Islamic Emirate, the national interests of the country have been protected,” he asserted, emphasizing the importance of unity among Afghans.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to uphold media integrity while fostering an environment that supports national interests and collective problem-solving.
