Malnutrition Cases Decrease in Panjshir

BAZARAK(BNA): The number of malnutrition cases in Panjshir has declined during the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year.

According to Dr. Hujjatullah Mohammadi, the Director of Public Health in Panjshir, 6,000 cases of malnutrition were recorded in the current year, compared to 7,472 cases in the corresponding period of the previous year. This reflects a reduction of 1,472 cases.

Dr. Mohammadi highlighted that patients suffering from malnutrition are receiving treatment at 35 clinics and hospitals in the provincial center and the districts of Rukha and Anaba.

He attributed the decline to effective awareness campaigns, improved nutrition practices, and the provision of necessary health services throughout Panjshir. He further noted that additional programs are underway to further reduce the prevalence of this illness in the province.
