Maidan Wardak’s Fresh Fruits Reach Indian Market for the First Time

KABUL(BNA): Officials from the Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department of Maidan Wardak province have announced that cherries and apricots from the province have been exported to India for the first time.

Mawlawi Mohammad Idris Hanif, the head of the Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department, reported to BNA that with the assistance of private companies, cherries and apricots from the province have been exported to India for the first time.

He added that there are plans to start exporting fresh fruits to Arab countries via air corridors in the future, aiming to be effective in marketing fresh fruits.

It is worth noting that the construction of cold storage facilities for fresh fruits in the province is progressing rapidly. Once completed, these facilities will provide ease in storing fruits, benefiting the farmers significantly.
