Khost Public Health Directorate Disposes Tons of Expired Goods in Public Safety Initiative

 

KHOST(BNA): The Public Health Directorate of Khost has disposed 35 tons of expired and substandard medicines and food products, as part of an ongoing effort to safeguard public health in the province.

Haji Ahmad, the Director of Public Health in Khost, told Bakhtar News Agency that the destroyed items consisted of 1,097 categories of expired and low-quality medicines and food products. These items were collected over the past five months from pharmacies and retail stores across Khost city and its districts.

The Director reaffirmed the commitment of the Public Health Directorate to curb the sale and distribution of such hazardous goods, announcing that a state-of-the-art laboratory for quality control and assessment of imported products will soon be established in Khost.

He also called on traders and shopkeepers to strictly refrain from selling expired and substandard products, stressing that such practices pose severe health risks to the public and are subject to legal action.
