Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani Inaugurates AFN 71 Million Police Headquarter Project in Khost

KHOST(BNA): Construction work on a new building for the Khost Police Headquarters commenced today, Wednesday in a ceremony attended by the Acting Minister of Interior, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, and several high-ranking officials.

During the ceremony, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani expressed satisfaction with the progress of numerous vital projects across the country within a short time frame. He described the current state of security, which allows senior officials to travel to remote areas day or night, as a great blessing and a fulfillment of Afghan aspirations. He commended the efforts of security forces in maintaining stability.

Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani emphasized that under the Islamic Sharia-based system, everyone’s rights are safeguarded, justice is ensured, and no compromises are made regarding the nation’s sovereignty. He added that while infrastructure such as buildings and roads can be constructed anytime, the key focus should be on winning people’s hearts and earning their trust.

The new Khost Police Headquarters is being constructed on a 42-jerib plot west of the city at a cost of AFN 71.5 million, funded by the Ministry of Interior’s budget. The three-story facility will include 30 rooms on each floor, a large conference hall, and essential amenities.
The project is expected to be completed within 15 months and will provide employment opportunities for numerous workers during its construction phase.

Additionally, Officials highlighted that the previous headquarters was not only located in the city center but also lacked modern standards, necessitating the construction of a new facility in a more suitable and spacious location.
