KABUL(BNA): Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Acting Minister of Interior Affairs, during his recent visit to Paktia province, met with tribal elders of the Sayed Karam district to discuss key community concerns and requests.
During the meeting, the elders, led by Mohammad Dawood Totakhil, Head of the Totakhil Council, highlighted several critical issues. These included the need for constructing the main road between Panan and Gardez, implementing comprehensive programs for Sayed Karam district, completing pending construction projects, and establishing hospitals and religious schools.
In response, Acting Minister Haqqani assured the residents of Sayed Karam that addressing their needs is a priority for the Islamic Emirate. He acknowledged the district’s sacrifices during the jihad and the lack of essential services they have endured. He promised that the government would now provide special attention to their situation.
Minister Haqqani confirmed that work on smaller public projects, such as water dams and electrification, would commence soon. Additionally, he emphasized the significant reconstruction of the Gardez-Patan main road, for which funding has already been allocated. He also noted that construction of the Machalgho Dam would begin following the completion of the Qosh Tepa Canal project.
