Kabul Municipality Enhances City Infrastructure with New Street and Road Signage

 

KABUL(BNA): The Kabul Municipality has commenced the installation of new address signs for streets, roads, and public pathways across seven districts of Kabul 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12. This initiative aims to enhance city navigation and improve public access to essential locations.

Engineer Mohammad Hamed Sadat, Director of Infrastructure Projects at the Program and Project Management Department of Kabul Municipality, informed Bakhtar News Agency that the contracted company will carry out the installation of these signs with high quality and efficiency. The process will be overseen by Kabul Municipality’s technical and engineering teams to ensure compliance with established standards.

He added that a preliminary survey and the installation of number plates on residential properties have already been completed under the supervision of the Traffic Analysis and Address Identification Department in these districts. Furthermore, the installation of address signs for alleys, secondary roads, and public streets is set to begin soon in districts 1, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, where preparatory surveys have been conducted, and some residential door numbers have already been installed.

Meanwhile, survey efforts are currently underway in districts 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22. Following the completion of residential door numbering, the installation of signs for alleys, main roads, and secondary streets will proceed accordingly.

Recently, the Kabul Municipality began installing informational and directional signs, specifying key routes and their respective distances, along several public roads and pathways. This initiative will be further expanded to cover additional areas in the future.
