Islamic Emirate Summons Pakistani Charge d’Affaires Over Bombing in Paktika

KABUL(BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan summoned the Charge d’Affaires of the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul Yesterday, Wednesday, delivering a formal protest note regarding Pakistan’s airstrikes near the Durand Line in the Barmal district of Paktika province.

In a statement, the ministry strongly condemned the aggression by Pakistani forces and declared, “While a representative of Pakistan’s civilian government was engaged in dialogue with Afghan officials in Kabul, the violation of Afghan airspace and the targeting of civilians by the Pakistani military reflects deliberate attempts by certain factions within Pakistan to sow distrust between the two nations.”

The Islamic Emirate emphasized its long standing commitment to defending Afghanistan’s sovereignty against superpowers, declaring it will not tolerate any violation of its airspace. The statement reiterated Afghanistan’s readiness and determination to protect its independence and territorial integrity.

Pakistan was also explicitly warned that safeguarding Afghanistan’s national sovereignty is a “red line” for the Islamic Emirate, and such irresponsible actions will undoubtedly have consequences.

Separately, Afghanistan’s Ministry of National Defense condemned the bombing in Paktika, describing it as a “barbaric act” that violates international norms and warned it will not go unanswered.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan’s airstrikes in the Barmal district yesterday resulted in 46 casualties and six injuries, with most victims being women and children.
