KABUL(BNA): Three pilots from Afghanistan’s Air Force have graduated after completing a two-year program of practical and theoretical training. In a ceremony today, the Ministry of National Defense also inaugurated a new four-year academic term at the Air Force and Air Defense University.
Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to building a strong Islamic national army, prepared to defend the nation and its values. He highlighted Afghanistan’s determination to reclaim helicopters transferred to other countries following the U.S. withdrawal.
Additionally, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Acting Minister of Interior, expressed pride in witnessing Afghan-trained pilots graduate, marking a shift away from past dependence on foreign expertise. He reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s focus on strengthening the Air Force to achieve self-sufficiency.
Sheikh Nida Mohammad Nadim, Acting Minister of Higher Education, and Mullah Noor Mohammad Noori, Acting Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs, emphasized the importance of this achievement in nation-building and national pride.
In addition to the pilot graduates, 120 new students began their studies, with training in piloting, reconnaissance, and aircraft engineering.
