Islamic Emirate Constructs Over 9,000 Houses for Earthquake-Affected Families in Herat
HERAT(BNA): The Earthquake Relief Commission has announced the construction of 9,622 houses over the past year for those affected by the recent earthquakes in Herat.
According to a report from Bakhtar News Agency, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, Head of Herat’s Information and Culture Department and Spokesman for the Earthquake Relief Commission, stated that the Islamic Emirate’s efforts to build houses and provide aid to earthquake victims are ongoing.
He emphasized that the earthquakes in Herat have inflicted significant psychological, financial, and cultural damage, and the Islamic Emirate is utilizing all available resources to meet the needs of the affected communities in the hardest-hit areas.
Herat’s residents, meanwhile, have described the unprecedented and consecutive earthquakes as a deeply tragic and unforgettable event.
The earthquakes, which struck Zindajan District and neighboring areas, resulted in the loss of numerous lives and caused widespread destruction to homes and properties.
